Competition Win - PET CT Building, University Hospital Limerick

KJA are delighted to have been selected as the preferred architects for a new HSE Framework for Acute projects valued between €1 and €15M to be carried out in Counties Limerick, Clare and Tipperary North.  The framework will last for three years with a possible 1-year extension, which was won in a joint venture with Moloney O’Beirne Architects. The initial project is for a new PET CT on site close to the existing Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre at University Hospital Limerick. Design is expected to commence in the next few weeks.

Preliminary proposals envisage a biophilic approach, bringing nature into the healthcare environment to allay patient fears when undergoing cancer diagnosis. We aim to create a calming, patient-focused experience by integrating high-quality landscaping and visual connections to the outdoors throughout the unit.
